THRESHOLD Eli: Keys, Batteries & Radar

How to secure all three maintenance keys without dying to darkness or mic aggro.

Eli Keys, Batteries & Radar Guide

Eli Chase objective

On the Eli Chase map in THRESHOLD, your win condition is straightforward to say and stressful to do: find three maintenance keys, keep your light alive, optionally bring radar online, and open the exit gate while an entity that hears mic and chat hunts you. Eli is the large, systems-heavy counterpart to Scrow’s mall RNG. Read the Chase Mode overview if you still need hiding and hearing basics.

This page focuses on the loot triangle: keys · batteries · radar.

The three maintenance keys

You need all three keys. Two will not do. Spawns vary between runs—THRESHOLD is a BETA Roblox horror map, not a static obby—so memorize search patterns, not a single YouTube timestamp.

Search pattern that scales:

  1. Pick a wing (maintenance halls, side rooms, marked utility spaces) and clear it completely.
  2. Interact with every plausible prop; keys are easy to walk past when you panic sprint.
  3. Mark mentally which wings are dry so you never triple-clear empty space.
  4. In duos, assign wings; announce key pickups in a one-word PTT blurt (“key”) then mute.
  5. Rotate toward the gate only when the third key is secured—or stage near the gate with two keys if the third spawn is adjacent.

Common key mistakes:

  • Retreading the first wing because it “felt likely.”
  • Open-mic celebrating the second key.
  • Leaving a teammate alone on the far side of the map with zero batteries.
  • Confusing Story’s Eli vibes with Chase spawns—DESPAIR teaches tone, not exact key coordinates.

Batteries and flashlight uptime

Your flashlight is a finite resource. Batteries are the real pacing item on Eli. Rules that save runs:

  • Loot batteries on sight even at “full enough” confidence. Inventory reality checks beat vibes.
  • Blackout walking should be intentional short crosses, not a lifestyle.
  • Extinguish the beam when hiding in a locked sightline so you do not paint the closet.
  • Budget power for the endgame gate approach; many wipes happen on the last stretch with a dead light and a loud mic.

Think of batteries as both vision and radar fuel.

Radar: when and how

Radar is the information tool that turns Eli from pure faith-based searching into directed movement. Community usage notes converge on a simple idea: radar is battery-expensive, with players describing a three-battery style cost to get meaningful use. Exact UI prompts can shift in BETA—always confirm the interact label on your build—but the planning lesson stays:

  1. Bank batteries first.
  2. Power radar when you have already cleared an obvious wing and need a pointer.
  3. Move on the information immediately; standing still reading pings with an open mic is reverse survival.
  4. Do not activate radar as a panic button in the entity’s face—break line of sight, mute, then check.

Radar does not replace map knowledge. Use it to break deadlocks after disciplined looting.

Suggested solo route mindset

You will not get a pixel-perfect route that survives every patch, but you can run a priority stack:

  1. Silence — mute defaults on.
  2. Batteries — secure early power.
  3. Keys — wing-by-wing clear.
  4. Radar — spend power to finish the last key if stuck.
  5. Gate — quiet approach, keys ready, no chat spam.

If you die, ask which layer failed. Most beginners skip straight to “need ESP” from the Scripts Hub. Usually they needed mute and batteries.

Trade batteries deliberately. A runner with two keys and zero power is a ghost story waiting to happen.

How Eli differs from Scrow (quick refresh)

  • Eli: 3 keys, batteries, radar, larger map.
  • Scrow: pages, RNG password, food court, Godspeed focus.
  • Both: hearing mechanic, hiding, flashlight pressure, cash/XP on success.

Do not type a Scrow password into Eli’s gate. Do not wait for codes to spawn keys—there are no known promo codes as of October 2026.

Progression value of Eli clears

Eli runs feed the same cash/XP economy that unlocks Chase power like Godspeed (still S-tier even if you mainly play Eli—movement helps rotate wings). Leaderboards exist; long map means consistency beats one lucky seed. After you can escape on demand, optimize with the tier list habits: flashlight management, radar timing, hiding, mic discipline.

Practice drills

Drill A — Battery only: Play a run where your only grade is “did I loot every battery I saw?” Ignore pride about speed.
Drill B — Mute streak: Three deaths in a row with zero mic/chat noise.
Drill C — Radar save: Intentionally bank three batteries, clear one wing blind, then radar for the rest.
Drill D — Gate calm: Practice approaching the exit with keys already secured while a friend makes noise elsewhere (in custom vibes) so you learn not to panic type.

After Eli

  • Swap to Scrow for RNG and Godspeed tech.
  • Revisit Story DESPAIR if you skipped lore.
  • Watch Updates for BETA changes that move props or rework Episode ties.
  • Keep Getting Started bookmarked for control refreshers.

Eli rewards methodical horror players. Three keys, enough batteries, radar when stuck, and a muted mic will outpace any lucky sprint through the dark.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about Chase Mode, Story DESPAIR, codes, and escapes.

How many maintenance keys does Eli need?

Three. The exit gate will not open until you have secured all three maintenance keys in that run.

How many batteries does radar take?

Players commonly plan around a three-battery style cost to bring radar online meaningfully. Confirm the live prompt in your BETA build.

Do key spawns stay in the same rooms every match?

No. Treat spawns as variable. Use wing-clear patterns and radar when you stall, not a single memorized shelf.

Should I use ESP to find Eli keys?

Some players do via universal ESP scripts, but it risks bans and skips learning routes. Try mute-and-battery fundamentals first.

Is Eli harder than Scrow?

Eli is larger and more about thorough looting; Scrow is tighter RNG and speed. Many beginners find Eli’s darkness tax harsher until battery habits click.
